Caridad Muñiz Padilla

  • Advise United States citizens on the IRS voluntary disclosure alternatives for undisclosed offshore accounts, and federal tax compliance.
  • Guidance on tax reporting matters under Puerto Rico and United States federal tax laws to brokerage firms and clearing houses.
  • Obtain and negotiate tax incentives grants, tax credits and financial incentives under various Puerto Rico tax incentives laws.
  • Specialized advice on Puerto Rico income tax, municipal license tax, personal and real property taxes, sales and use tax, excise tax, among others.  
  • Draft Puerto Rico legislation on tax and estate planning matters.

Caridad collaborates in the development and presentation of a variety of seminars on estate planning and asset protection. Caridad is a volunteer for Coalición Legal para Puerto Rico, where she offers advice to nonprofit entities, including formation and structuring, and obtaining exemption determination letters from the Puerto Rico Treasury Department and the IRS. Caridad has been recognized by her peers since the 2023 edition of The Best Lawyers in Puerto Rico™ for her high caliber work in Tax Law.
