Edwin J. Seda Fernández
Edwin J. Seda-Fernández received a B.S., magna cum laude, from the University of Puerto Rico, a Master’s Degree in Education from Boston University, and his law degree from Boston College Law School. He directs the Labor and Employment Law Department. Mr. Seda-Fernández’s active practice includes exclusive representation of employers in the private and public sectors. For thirty five (35) years he has represented management during union campaigns, negotiation and administration of collective bargaining agreements, and acting as trial counsel in labor arbitrations and before the National Labor Relations Board, as well as representing employers before administrative agencies and in federal and Puerto Rico courts in cases of wrongful discharge, discrimination, sexual harassment in the workplace, wage and hour claims, retaliation in the workplace, benefit claims, and employment related tort cases such as defamation and privacy rights violations.
A substantial element of Mr. Seda-Fernández practice consists of general counseling with clients to prevent litigation as well as compliance with Puerto Rico and federal labor laws, employment discrimination statutes, executive orders, ERISA, airline labor and employment laws, and other laws governing various aspects of employment. He also has extensive experience in labor and employment matters pertaining to reorganizations of businesses, reductions in force, plant closings, mergers, acquisitions, and transfers of going concerns.
