Pedro Jiménez

Pedro Jiménez is a veteran of complex litigation in Puerto Rico. He has tried or settled some of the most challenging lawsuits in our jurisdiction, and his experience runs the gamut from corporate-control disputes, commercial, contract, securities, antitrust, reinsurance, franchise, construction and financial litigation, as well as commercial and securities arbitration under diverse rules. After serving as Senior Law Clerk for the Chief Judge of the United States District Court in San Juan, Mr. Jiménez worked in New York for all but ten years with the international firm of Shearman & Sterling (now A&O Shearman), where he concentrated on international litigation. Upon his return to Puerto Rico, he co-founded Correa Collazo Herrero Jiménez & Fortuño, where he chaired the Litigation Department, before transferring to our Firm.

He has represented both investment and broker firms and their clients in securities arbitration, chaired the negotiating team for a multinational corporation in a multibillion-dollar competitive bidding process, and has represented local and international financial institutions in Bank Secrecy Act and internal client investigations. He has also represented banks and corporate defendants in class actions and multi-district litigations, advised a national accounting firm in government auditing disputes, and has represented foreign government-owned entities in international litigation.  Mr. Jiménez also devotes time to litigation-prevention and alternate dispute resolution of difficult or high-stake controversies.
