Verónika M. Banuchi Ponce

Verónika M. Banuchi Ponce is an Associate Attorney in ADSUAR’s Litigation Practice Group who graduated cum laude from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez with a bachelor’s degree in political science and international Relations.

While in law school, she and her colleague founded the Association of Business and Commercial Law (ADEC), which is still active on the campus of the Interamerican University School of Law. In 2020, Ms. Banuchi Ponce obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. She served as an associate at a mass tort law firm specializing in assisting plaintiffs injured by corporations. Notably, she played a key role in the 3M litigation representing veterans with hearing injuries. She also contributed to Zantac-related product liability litigation and assisted hundreds of people injured by wildfires in several states. In addition, Ms. Banuchi Ponce assisted in opioid litigation on behalf of Bexar County, Texas against pharmaceutical companies, including Purdue Pharma. 

Ms. Banuchi Ponce has been recognized through invitations to testify at public legislative hearings related to labor legislation in Puerto Rico and by the Puerto Rico Bar Association. She served as Legal Coordinator at One Fair Wage, a national non-profit organization in the U.S. that advocates for the rights of restaurant workers. In this capacity, she assisted in mediations addressing wage theft and sexual harassment, ensuring fair treatment and protection for vulnerable workers in the restaurant industry.
